The Annapurna Circuit is a breathtaking trek in Nepal, circling the Annapurna Massif and offering diverse landscapes from lush forests to high-altitude deserts. It typically takes 10-15 days, reaching a maximum altitude of 5,416 meters (17,769 feet) at Thorung La Pass. Tilicho Lake, a glacial lake, is a popular side trip from the circuit. Located at 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), it’s one of the highest lakes in the world, known for its stunning turquoise waters and surrounding peaks. The trek to Tilicho Lake is challenging but rewards with unparalleled natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu - Besisahar - Dharapani (1800m/5,905 ft) - Chame (2,670m/8,760 ft) (10 hrs drive)
You will be taken by a bus from Kathmandu to Besisahar and then continue your journey to Dharapani and finally to Chame in a private Jeep, enjoying the scenic journey.
Day 2: Chame to Upper Pisang (3,300m/10,826 ft) (6 hrs hike)
From Chame, you'll walk to Upper Pisang, a picturesque village with stunning mountain views. You will discover and immerse yourself in the local culture.
Day 3: Upper Pisang to Ngawal (3,700m/12,140 ft) (6 hrs hike)
You will continue the hike to Ngawal, a beautiful village located on a hillside. The breathtaking views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, and Gangapurna mountains and valleys will mesmerize you.
Day 4: Ngawal to Manang (3540m/11,614 ft) (Acclimatization Day)
After exploring the cave near Ngawal, you will walk to Manang and take a day to relax and get used to the high altitude in Manang. You will explore the village and enjoy panoramic mountain views.
Day 5: Manang - Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m/13,615 ft) (6 hrs hike)
From Manang, you will hike to Tilicho Base Camp. You will soar through the alpine landscapes and experience the tranquility of the high Himalayas.
Day 6: Tilicho Base Camp to Shri Kharka (4,050m/13,287 ft) (6 hrs hike)
From the Base Camp, you will walk to Lake Tilicho (5050m/16,568 ft) and enjoy the natural beauty of the tranquil lake surrounded by mountains. You'll rise and fall through the Alpine landscapes and experience the high Himalayas.
Day 7: Shri Kharka - Yak Kharka (4,050m/13,287 ft) (6 hrs walk)
You will walk from Shri Kharka to Yak Kharka and experience the natural beauty of the Manang and Annapurna Himalayas.
Day 8: Yak Kharka - Thorong Phedi (4,450m/14,600 ft) (6 hrs hike)
From Yak Kharka, you will walk to Thorong Phedi, the base camp for the Thorong La Pass. The next day, you will be prepared for the difficult passage of passage.
Day 9: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467 ft) via Thorong La Pass (5,416m/17,769 ft) (12 hrs walk)
You'll set off early in the morning for the challenging but rewarding climb to Thorong La Pass. You will experience the thrill of crossing the high mountain pass and enjoy the panoramic views. You will descend to the Muktinath temple, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, and explore the scenic village. Overnight stay will be in Muktinath.
Day 10: Muktinath – Tatopani (1300m/4266 ft) (4 hrs drive)
You'll descend towards Jomsom, a windswept town in the Mustang district. You'll witness the dramatic change in landscapes as you venture into the arid and desert-like terrain and explore the town and head towards Tatopani Hotspring where you’ll take a dip into Natural Hotspring to rejuvenate yourself. Overnight stay will be in Tatopani.
Day 11: Tatopani to Pokhara (4 hours drive)
You will be driven from Tatopani to Pokhara and enjoy the mountain views. You will relax and unwind thinking about the incredible journey you have completed in Pokhara. Congratulations! You've completed your dream adventure.
