Dhaulagiri is a mountain range located in the western region of Nepal. It is the seventh highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,167 meters (26,795 feet) above sea level. The Dhaulagiri Himal is a part of the Himalayan mountain range, and its name means "White Mountain" in Nepali. Dhaulagiri is located in the northwest region of Nepal, and its peak lies about 120 km (75 miles) northwest of Pokhara, the second-largest city in Nepal. The mountain range includes several peaks, with Dhaulagiri I being the highest. Other notable peaks include Dhaulagiri II, III, IV, and V, which are all over 7,000 meters (23,000 feet) in height. The Dhaulagiri Himal is a popular destination for mountaineers and trekkers, with several trekking routes that lead through the range.
