Itinerary

Day 1: Bus Pokhara → Besisahar (6 hrs), drive to Syange (1,100 m), trek to Machha Khola (930 m) – 4 hrs
An adventurous overland journey follows winding mountain roads to Syange. From here, the trek begins along the Marsyangdi River, passing waterfalls and suspension bridges before reaching Machha Khola.
Day 2: Machha Khola → Jagat (1,300 m) – 5 hrs
The trail climbs gradually through terraced hillsides and riverside villages. Jagat marks the official entry into the Annapurna Conservation Area, where stone houses and narrow alleyways reflect traditional Himalayan life.
Day 3: Jagat → Dharapani (1,860 m) – 5 hrs
Ascending through forests and small settlements, the valley narrows dramatically. Dharapani introduces stronger Tibetan cultural influences and panoramic mountain views.
Day 4: Dharapani → Chame (2,710 m) – 5 hrs
The landscape shifts to alpine pine forests as you approach Chame, the administrative center of the Manang district. Towering peaks rise steeply above the valley floor, creating a dramatic mountain corridor.
Day 5: Chame → Upper Pisang (3,300 m) – 5 hrs
The trail offers striking views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak. Choosing the higher route to Upper Pisang rewards trekkers with expansive vistas and a glimpse into traditional Tibetan-style villages.
Day 6: Upper Pisang → Manang (3,540 m) – 5 hrs
A scenic ridge walk provides breathtaking Himalayan panoramas. Arriving in Manang, a vibrant mountain village surrounded by snow peaks, you feel the growing altitude and alpine atmosphere.
Day 7: Acclimatization: Manang → Gangapurna Lake (4,050 m) → Manang – 4 hrs
A crucial acclimatization day. A hike to the turquoise waters of Gangapurna Lake allows your body to adapt while enjoying spectacular glacier and mountain views.
Day 8: Manang → Yak Kharka (4,110 m) → Tilicho Base Camp (4,900 m) – 6 hrs
The terrain becomes rugged and windswept. Crossing high ridges and landslide-prone paths, you reach Tilicho Base Camp, perched beneath massive rock faces and glaciers.
Day 9: Tilicho Lake Day Hike (4,919 m), return to Manang – 7 hrs
An early morning ascent leads to the breathtaking Tilicho Lake. The deep blue waters, framed by snow-covered peaks, create a surreal and humbling atmosphere. After soaking in the views, descend back toward Manang.
Day 10: Manang → Thorong Phedi (4,540 m) – 5 hrs
Gradual ascent across dry high-altitude terrain leads to Thorong Phedi, the final stop before crossing the pass. Preparation and rest are crucial for the next day’s challenge.
Day 11: Thorong Phedi → Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) → Muktinath (3,760 m); Bus to Pokhara – 8–10 hrs
A pre-dawn climb takes you over Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek. Prayer flags flutter against dramatic Himalayan backdrops. Descend to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath Temple before returning by bus to Pokhara.
